Hi,
I've been working on some ideas related to what OpenNIC appears
to be about for a while and looking at taking next steps with OpenNIC
if it's TRTTD.
My proposed TLD is .dom and I intend the development of software and
services which I'm currently calling "the dominion system" with a focus on
domain (in the sense of an application or enterprise domain) development.
I don't have a problem with the stipulations of running a peer server for the
whole system or 1 entity 1 vote managment of the .dom TLD but my notion is
that an enlightened central worker-despot trumps a totalitarian democracy
so I would be making the decisions, developing the software etc. for the
dominion system, not a committee .
My conception to this point of the dominion system is essentially similar to
OpenNIC but with each entity owning a TLD not acting as a public trustee
for one, or moreover administering their own TL view of the net and deciding
with whom they will peer at the namespace level.
Thanks in advance for your comments and I will review the archives to see
how this fits in your established discourse.
