1. Vidya is general use slang term used by several communities, not just
4chan. It's just a tongue-in-cheek way of referring to the hobby.

2. "It's 4chan-related" is a bad rationale for rejecting a concept. Is
.vidya perhaps too unprofessional? Probably. Though I think that with
domains like ".meme" and ".ninja" having been approved by ICANN I do
wonder if that's a valid objection any more.
