Hello. I hope this message finds you well.
Following our recent discussions regarding inactive TLDs, I am formally proposing to house the .o TLD. Over the past months, I have prepared the necessary infrastructure and systems to manage the TLD.
About Me:
My name is Emre Çelik, known online as EMREOYUN. I am a Computer Engineering graduate from TED University, Ankara, Türkiye. I worked in the university's IT Department for three years and have nearly ten years of experience operating servers for various purposes. While my formal education is in software development, I am particularly passionate about servers, networking, and IT systems.
Infrastructure Prepared:
Tier 1 DNS Server: u.emreoyun.tr (IP: 79.110.234.30), hosted by Batihost Internet Services in Bursa, Türkiye. This server is fully operational and ready to serve the .o TLD. It is currently registered as ns7.opennic.glue as a Tier 1 server, waiting in the Approval state.
Autoregistration Website: https://dot-o.eo.gl/ (SSL support) and http://dot.o when the TLD goes live, with features including:
* Account login and registration
* Domain lookup and registration with 1–4 nameservers
* Registration periods up to 1 year, with unlimited extensions for expiring domains
* Ticketing system
* Security features, including 2FA, CAPTCHA, and session protection
* Some compatibility with older browsers
A copy of the planned charter for the .o TLD can be found at: https://dl.emreoyun.tr/download/doto/charter.md?v
History and Motivation:
The .o TLD has been inactive due to non-responsive registration systems and offline Tier 1 DNS servers (ns9 and ns11, operated by Jonah Aragon). Previous attempts to register .o domains were unsuccessful, leaving a gap in the OpenNIC TLD ecosystem. Recognizing the demand and the opportunity to revitalize this TLD, I have volunteered to assume operational responsibility and have prepared the required systems for a smooth transition.
I am requesting the OpenNIC community to vote on transferring operational responsibility of the .o TLD. If you have any concerns or requirements that should be addressed before finalizing the transition, please let me know.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your feedback and the upcoming vote.
Best regards,
Emre Çelik (EMREOYUN)
