This appears to originally sent on Friday 21st of August directly to IntraNIC, sorry. Sending to the list here now.
Nay, but I'm open to changing it.
My three concerns
1) there's no contact info on your page that'd work if your servers are
down or for a user failing to set it up. (I'd like to see a way for a
new user to ask for help that works before they've got everything running)
2) No IPv6 servers, no mention of any encrypted DNS servers, both of
which have helped me connect with some less open networks, deal with NAT
issues etc.
3) Your domain policy is explicit in that you won't relinquish a TLD if
ICANN delegates the same, afaik we've taken this as a case by case and
it's only happened once, .free became .libre due to it.
For my systems I would have to go with ICANN in these cases, as it
currently stands, or some federated stuff would very likely break hard.
I'm not sure what to recommend as a fix from my perspective, maybe
OpenNIC needs a policy, maybe this is just personal to me, I guess
explaining your position might be useful.
Apologies you did have a discussion for approx a week, unfortunately It
was a very atypical week on my end.
