Hi Jeff,
I'm not sure if I read your message correctly but I get the feeling you're
not happy with me?
I care if the wiki is down from the point of view that it is unavailable
for all and I care about OpenNIC and it being a great project, maybe I used
the word 'care' word wrongly.
I don't think you should care 'too much' if my T2 is down (temporally),
other than as I
do about the wiki, that it effects the project.
Why do you assume I haven't set up filters? I do filter those messages and
I now have a folder full of them!
Julian points out that people like to get these messages, I accept that,
but I don't, but that's all fine, Julian and Alex have helped my out and I
have the archives to refer to as I hoped, great!
Peter :-)
P.S. It's relevant to know that I didn't sign up to the 'reports' list, or
the 'operations' one if I remember correctly.

The T2 reports that are on the mailing list can be viewed from

reports. Just go under the info menu, and you can view the last report
generated.
Why should you care if the wiki is down? Well, why should I care if
your T2 is down? Its the same thing, I can't do anything about it. The
reports list is the place for all reports to go that affect
administrators of any opennic service. Some people may have more of an
interest in the general state of services on this project than others.
The information is simply put out there so everyone can be aware.
Complaining about getting information that doesn't affect you
specifically is like complaining that the weather channel's website
carries weather for cities other than your own... if you're not
interested in it, don't look at it. Just because you don't care about
it does not mean that others may not be interested.
Why haven't you set up your email client to dump messages from that
mailing list into its own folder, and ignore the folder until you need
it? I would have thought everyone used sub-folders for each mailing
list they are subscribed to. I've got at least 20 different lists I get
email from - I can't imagine trying to sort through an inbox without
having the mailing lists all go to their own folders.

Hi, Can all the dns-reports (and dns-operations) messages be made
available online somewhere, maybe in the archive like discuss, or a
private place where our membership login provides access? I would much
rather refer to them when needed then get this relentless stream of
irrelevant mail delivered to my inbox. What difference does it make to
me if the wiki is down? I can't do anything about it, the system should
send a message to Julian and Brian, not everyone. I'll monitor my
servers and, if needed, refer to the archive (should it be made
available) if I need to. Either way, unless someone can give me a good
reason why I would want these messages coming directly to me, I am
unsubscribing from the list as it is a pain and I can see no use for
it. Peter On 03.07.2012 15:40, opennic AT linuxrulz.de [2]wrote:
