I think the teams thing might be cool. However, I am unsure... would this make us special in the eyes of SFD or just help us organize better?

Should we (OpenNIC) register a team so we can sign up supporters (like
our T1/T2 ops!) who would be interested in contacting local SFD teams
or even setting up their own event?
Has anyone ever actually participated in one of these events?
