Following up on this, it appears that users of unbound will not get updates until the TTL has been reached. To help ensure more timely updates, I have changed the default TTL for the root zone to 1 hour, and the default for OpenNic TLDs to 2 hours.

The previous default was set to 2 days, which is what ICANN sets their zones to. I have not changed the default values for ICANN entries. However it may still take another 2 days before the bad entries are cleared from these servers. If your server is not responding with the updated information, please flush the cache or restart your nameserver so we can get everything back in sync.
