Agreed. Can I make one other suggestion? Mandatory TLD backups (rsync+encrypted, whatever) to some "central" OpenNIC machine or other backup service. If that was policy, it'd be easy to recover or otherwise bring a TLD back online if the current host dies, their machine explodes, their local backups fail, whatever. Otherwise, we're left in the same position as we are now - the tld is down and the userdata, other than zone data, is gone. (I'm talking about registration data, etc).

This has been a great disappointment and I think we can address the
issues that occured here with a new policy on creating a newTLD within
OpenNIC.
