The problem with .forums is it will conflict with the new ICANN gTLD which is due to go live later this year. We should probably aim to avoid that conflict. Nice proposal but I think it's unnecessary.Sent from my BlackBerry 10 smartphone.

I believe that a .forums would make people more aware, you could say. I would never think when I need help on cooking to go on cooking.bbs I would think cooking.forums (forums about cooking) that is just a theory, if there was a .forums

But just throwing this out there, there is currently a .bbs TLD already.... .bbs = bulletin board systems. The terms bulletin board/message board/forum are usually used interchangeably on the web. There is nothing that says we can't have both .forums and .bbs, but just wanted to bring that to your attention.

domain.forums
The domain .forums would make a forum more easily known. For example, there could be a boat.forums where members would talk about boats, or cars.forums where they would talk about cars. Think of all the possibilities of this domain. website.forums eating.forms A .forums domain would bring forth a new generation in internet forums.
