My quick findings and research about some of the alternative roots, in
support of Mr.Robin research

Very little info about them. Same conclusion as Mr.Robin.

Still partially active, I believe they are selling TLD. Correct me, If
I'm wrong.

They do have a Law suit against ICAAN by the owner of namespace.us.
