Hi,
I run a server for the game Minetest, which is similar to Minecraft but is
open-source and relies more on mods and customization rather than being a
finished product.
Some time ago it came to me that I might be able to advertise OpenNIC to
users, as my server is just a VPS with an IP address and a port.
.dyn has little restrictions other than making a script for the VPS' cron
job. .bit does not have restrictions at all, so if you have the ability to
keep a personal Namecoin wallet, you can use that too.
Here is the thread on my game server, where I also mention OpenNIC and
Namecoin:

Also, after discussions on IRC, someone sent me a link to an older thread
proposing .game, which had been taken by ICANN, and more specific variations
seeming to rule out certain types of games. The TLD .gameserver is not taken
though. I don't have the resources to maintain a TLD, but here is why we need
a .gameserver:
* .dyn and .bit are not game specific
* Most games are not really "geek" anymore. So while rogue.geek, my site on
the roguelike game Rogue, would qualify as "geek", mycsgoserver.geek would
not.
* .oss is specific to open-source software projects. The only way for this to
work with a game server is if the same developers maintain their own game
servers.
* Game servers may have advertising, or be for a commercial game. This
disqualifies them from .free
* .bbs would only work for MS-DOS door games
What do you think of my advertising idea, and my proposal?
