I vote no purely on technical grounds.

Two letter TLDs are reserved for country codes.

I have to wonder, what do you actually know about the opennic project?  Do you understand how DNS works?  Your idea of charging for *any* domains suggests that you want to make money while depending on the free services of other members' servers, and that fact that you weren't aware of that makes me think you haven't done any research into what you are proposing.

Additionally, who do you think is going to buy a domain on opennic?  Do you understand that in order to view opennic domains, you have to modify your computer to use our DNS servers?  This isn't just affecting you, as the owner of the TLD, it affects EVERYONE who wants to visit the websites built on opennic domains.  You can't just go to google and expect to click on a link for an opennic domain, and they will never show up in any of the search engines.

People are willing to pay around $10 for a domain name that can be viewed world-wide.  Who is going to pay for a domain that can only be viewed by a small subset of technically-oriented people?

Hi All

I was not aware about the DNS servers is by members, in that case i will
propose to reduce the cost to be zero for 1-2 char domain
