Hi,

In that regard, .zip and .mov TLDs exist, where .zip is used on compressed files, and .mov is used for movie files. I also think both those domains and any extension that uses defacto or common file extensions are generally not safe; however, .o is already an established TLD in OpenNIC.
Sources: https://www.iana.org/domains/root/db/zip.html and https://www.iana.org/domains/root/db/mov.html

It seems the DNS server that is responsible for the .o TLD is down. I would like to volunteer to operate a Tier 2 DNS, but I haven't hosted a Tier-2 DNS before, and even if I could host one, I think it should be 2 different servers, different datacenters, and different countries, and I don't have the funds to host 2 servers in different countries. Any hosting outside of my country (don't be fooled by this domain ccTLD, I'm not from Greenland) is pretty expensive due to currency conversion to USD or EUR. It is clear that I don't meet the requirements to host a Tier 2 DNS for a TLD.

Best Regards,

Hello,

There is an issue that, domains with .o TLD may be mistaken as an object file with .o extension name (eg. intermediate output file produced by a compiler from c or cpp source code).
(ref link: https://community.cloudflare.com/t/opennic-domain-names/98832/2 ). Therefore, I think it is not secure for domain name operators to provide .o domain name registration services.

Thanks

Hello,

I'm reaching out to you about the .o TLD registration process. Before
2021, it was done on the GitHub page https://github.com/moderntld/.o
which is listed on opennic.org. On that GitHub page, they moved the
domain and registration to https://my.nablahost.net/ as announced on
https://github.com/moderntld/.o/issues/300. The problem is
https://my.nablahost.net/ is no longer working, thus making .o
unregistrable by normal means.

My question is, where can we register the .o domains, or (with the
operator of the .o domain in CC), in what ways can we register .o
domains?
