  • Date: Thu, 16 Apr 2026 14:28:37 -0600

We started discussing the T1 servers before, I don't remember if there had been any specific resolutions so I thought I'd start a new thread to keep the issues separate.

NS5: Offline since April 7, 2024.  Does not host any TLDs

NS10: Failing NULL and OZ since Jan 29, 2026.  Hosts NULL and OZ.
(Does not seem to respond at all to NULL queries, occasionally responds to OZ queries)
NULL zone is 601 lines long: 3 A records, 585 NS records.  Serial 2025124686
OZ zone is 615  lines long: 3 A records is 599 NS records.  Serial 2025124709

NS12: Offline since June 9, 2020.  Hosts the CYB zone.
CYB zone is 485 lines long: 180 A records, 62 NS records.  Serial 1576030081

NS13: offline since October 23, 2023.  Hosts the EPIC zone
EPIC zone is 1-74 lines long: 418 A records, 191 NS records.  Serial 3603527043

NS14: failing since June 2024.  Hosts the CHAN zone
I believe the admin of that server responded, but it doesn't appear that any updates have been made.  The server is refusing all queries.
CHAN zone is 1364 lines long: 550 A records, 189 NS records.  Serial 1556853233

My recommendation is to disable all of these for now until they can be fixed or deleted.  The TLD zones would continue to be hosted by the operational servers just like they are doing now, however it would prevent the server from being listed as a DNS source and testing would stop on these machines (meaning they wouldn't automatically be brought back to online status until the admin lets us know they are operational again).  The servers would no longer be listed on the reports page, and would only appear on the servers page to people who logged in.  The admin of each machine can log in to the servers page and reactivate their machine whenever they are ready.

Any thoughts?  Any further discussion?  I don't think this is something we need to vote on since it's more of an administrative change, but open discussion is still encouraged.  If there is no communication from any of the admins, then we will start new threads on the fate of each of the TLDs.
