Yes. Thats exactly what is explained in the DNS HowTo from Nicolai 
Langfeldt :)

If thats too old for you, consider buying Nicolais book. Also theres the 
standard reference work from O'REILLY named "DNS and BIND", but just for 
a simple domain I find it too dry to read.
