Hi Peter,

that's good tutorial. very detailed :) thank you.
(BTW http://greenpete.free/2013/01/17/setting-up-your-free-domains-d-n-s/ is correct link)

however, the problem that is still not really clear
a) what NS records and two other A records for?
b) how can I point the domain to my server having ns1 ns2 and ns3 addresses provided by hoster?

c) am I right that A record points to IP of the server itself and it's good in the case if I have it hosted on server alone (on my own PC for example), but not acceptable if I have several domains on one IP address?

sorry for silly questions, just would like to clear it but can't find suitable explanation of the whole DNS mechanism.

thank you one more time!
Dmitry

Hi everybody,

I have registered several domains on reg.for.free and can't
figure out how to point it to my hosting server.

NB I had the same problem couple of years ago and Julian just
help me with proper NSSET sets "by hands" as I understood. But
actually I want to learn it by myself from the moment of domain
registration to the fully working website stage.

to bee more informative:

example domain: cinema.free nameservers:
ns01.000webhost.com 208.43.152.32 ns02.000webhost.com
64.120.10.10

Could anybody please provide step by step DIY instruction? Would
be extremely helpful to have it on the website FAQ too.

...or maybe someone could give any reasonable link?

Thank you in advance, Dmitry
