I have 4Mbps, but I think it'll work for hosting DNS.

I don't use this connection for everything else.

I would be more concerned about your connection to the internet.

Install bind from the repo, then follow the T2 config here:  http://wiki.opennicproject.org/Tier2ServerConfig
Then you can use the T2 checker here:  http://www.opennicproject.org/t2log/test.php

So, bind is in repos. I'll try to set up.

Where to start?

Why not give it a try?  Bind only uses about 3% of the cpu on my 2Ghz
machine, and if this is going to be a dedicated box, you can reserve the
rest of memory for the cache.  I'd agree with disabling logging, but
otherwise see no reason why this machine couldn't handle name services?

You could, but I wouldn't make it a public one.

As long as there's a bind package for that Linux distro, it should work.
(Micro)SD cards are relatively slow, especially on writes.  You may want
to disable bind logging.

Hi,

I have MK802 mini PC with Linux (1.0GhZ ARM CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB microSD).

Is my mini PC able to host Tier-2 DNS server? (I would like to host DNS
server on it, because it has 10W energy usage)
