Again, this is another reason why I've been trying to move to a
central registrar database -- even if the admin disappears, we still
have full access to the important data. This is pretty typically how it goes... We see if anyone is even still interested in the TLD, and if not it gets removed. Considering the lack of registered domains in that zone, it doesn't seem likely that it will survive. On 03/14/2014 02:21 PM, Peter Green

This, yet again shows us that admins, must be
reachable in a reasonable time frame, which in the case of a T1
should be hours, not days. Why would anyone take our position on .ing seriously when admins come and go with no warning..? I say put the TLD up for someone else to run, and if no one wants it within a week it ceases to exist. Peter On March 14, 2014 6:14:34 PM GMT, Jeff

A little over three weeks ago the neo zone stopped responding. Whatever happened appears to have affected not only his OpenNic connections, but also his ICANN domains and nameservers. His email contacts all go through the same servers, and are thus also not reachable. There appears to only be around a dozen valid domain entries in the zone. I'm not certain if these were all used by Neo himself, or if anyone here had domains registered in that TLD. Since the zone is also carried by the other tier-1 nameservers, all domains are still reachable, but there is no way for users to register or update their domains. We should probably start discussing, then take a vote as to what we want to do about the zone... 1) If there is interest, we can transfer the zone to another registrar and try to reconnect users with their domains. 2) We shut down the TLD, remove all records, and no longer carry the zone under OpenNic. 3) We continue trying to contact Neo. -------- You are a member of the OpenNIC Discuss list.
