If you want namespace, register a domain or two in an existing zone. You have yet to give one reason why that is insufficient, just rhetoric. What benefit is there in countless zones with single digits of records?
This was discussed briefly on IRC the other night, and I stand by what I said then. Small alternate roots- more specifically small top level zones- are bad because they lead to conflicting data. The more small zones we run, the more likely this is to happen. DNS should be as global as possible.
