This being a mailing list, I'll assume you're not trolling.
I'm quite familiar with disability/welfare income. I'm
personally disabled and now living on Old Age Pension which
is the same amount except paid out of a different budget.
Conferring with people in the USA in the same situation,
I see they get more money there than I do in Canada.
Although I have sympathy for you, I also know that one can
have a decent life on a very low income and if one is
interested in internet activities it can certainly be done.
There is no need to indulge in the poor me game.

On that low income I can more than afford a decent internet
connection (3.5 Mbps), several high quality VOIP phone
services, shared hosting, as well as the rental of a dozen
small servers around the world. I also pay for 25 ICANN domains.
How do I do it? By not having a TV package like other people
do which also costs $100 a month. They do TV, I do internet.

The way I see it, the discussion here is about principles
and ideas, not about affordability.
