One opinion I have regarding the current design: It shouldn't be possible to 
see what other users voted on until after the voting ends. This should make 
it impossible for users to get distracted by other users opinions.

While the voting is ongoing, users see an interface similar to this:

Voting title goes here
[ ] Choice A
[*] Choice B
[ ] Choice C
Note: Voting results and votes will be published when the voting ends and 
votes can not be undone so choose wisely! This voting ends in x 
{weeks/days/hours/minutes/seconds}.

Once the voting ends, the interface changes to:

Results for Voting title goes here
Choice A  |  Choice B  |  Choice C
   20%    |     70%    |     10%
   asdf   |    fusl    |   someone
otheruser |    test    |
          |    fdsa    |
          |    xxxx    |
          |  catmeows  |
          |  whatdoes  |
          | thefoxsay  |
