At a basic level you just make the server give out one IP address
regardless of the query and have a web server giving out the warning
page, but this will do the same for any protocol, so I suppose you'd
need to Reject connection rather than Drop them so people aren't just
waiting for timeouts, but it's still going to generate alot of router
resets and computer reboots. So having thought it through a bit more its
probably better to just turn it off and hope they have a second server
configured.
The better solution would be to have the server only change www.*, but
from what I can see wildcards are mainly used like *.domain.com so I
don't know of a way to do that without researching it, but something
like powerDNS supports a pipe backend so maybe it can be done with a
bash script or something equally crude :)
