OpenNIC needs its own RIPE assigned AS and some IP-Space for that. Might not be too unrealistic, if we had a LIR on the ML. If we take a chance it might be even possible, but only for IPv6.

HurricanElectric does free (gratis) BGP routing when you have an AS and RIR allocated IP-Space. We could use tinc to setup a VPN without client/server in a mesh and route answers over that to primary servers which announce our prefix.

But is it worth the hassle and overhead? :)
