Hello All,

I'm aware that there has been a few mentions of Namecoin on #opennic recently.

I would really like to see support for Namecoin domains through
OpenNIC, but there seem to be some differing opinions about how
beneficial this may be.

Having a tier1 server for the .bit TLD removes the decentralised
aspect of Namecoin. On the other hand it makes it significantly easier
to access .bit websites, especially on mobile devices or areas with
low-bandwidth. Of course, concerned users could still use Namecoin
locally.

What are your opinions on this?

If it were decided to support Namecoin, I would happily run a Tier1 server.
