Have you ever run a set up like this
and tested that the behavior you described was actually happening?
If so, which DNS resolving library were you using? On 10/15/2014 9:13 PM, Niles Rogoff wrote: It is possible to do this. Most routers allow you
to set their forwarding DNS server, if it only allows one
server, you must make your own DNS server. Otherwise, simply
make a DNS server whose primary forwarder is OpenDNS, and
secondary is OpenNIC. If OpenDNS returns a NXDOMAIN, it should
move to OpenNIC.
However, what Mr. Furnell said
stands, and I cannot advocate this kind of setup.

Hi, The goal of OpenNIC seems to me to be free from censorship from the government, ISPs or anyone else - to be completely unfiltered, which is why I don't think that a feature like this would ever be implemented by the project as a whole. I think what might work is setting up a server that slaves every OpenNIC zone but otherwise forwards its queries to the OpenDNS services. That DNS server would either need to be in your house or it would need to somehow have its IP entered in OpenDNS so they can know to apply the filtering.
