- Subject: [opennic-discuss] Recommeded stuff for infrastructure

Hi Guys,
A friend and I are interested in proposing a new TLD and would like to get some recommendations on hardware and software to run the servers.
Would a couple of decently powered VPS, say the $15 one from vultr.com, be enough to run the server, or should it be on a dedicated server from the off, if so what kind of spec should I aim for?
I currently run my own nameservers for my own sites using PowerDNS with a MySQL backend, could the same setup be used, or do I need to run BIND to be able to mirror the root data of the other NIC's?
If there are any other recommendations that could be made to a prospective new admin then I would be more than happy to hear it.
Many Thanks
Paul
