So... this is from April 30 and I've chosen not to respond to these types of decisions / votes within the *OPEN* NIC community, though I must here regardless of anything already decided upon by Jonah. I do not believe I am mistaken when I say that Jonah seems to make only vote that counts for much anymore. Yes, you are highly talented and motivated. Though I feel these qualities can and do lead to overhasty choices that are contrary to OpenNIC's purpose, and thus its Existence as Community of Living Beings. And for that matter, contrary to any good intentions in any setting. I've witnessed too much "change for change sake" within time I am in this community, however really a part I may be. I'm not sure what else I need to express in this topic.
On general front I see many people shutting down name servers, leaving community, withdraw from mailing list, stop however they participate since I begin using with gratitude OpenNIC DNS. Why stop? I think this question vital to understand its answer.
For now and until OpenNIC re-evolves into a recognizable open, democratic "system", I too will stop subscription.

You and I obviously see computers as completely

is a luxury, but computers have been able to do
this for 10 years now.
Also, sorry if I came across a bit strong in my
previous comment, but to me closing programs on
a modern computer just sounded so bizarre that
it took me aback. :) I don't even know what a
"background program" is.
