I believe Piwik does have anonymous access available as an option so we could conceivably provide very general information publicly (like view counts and countries, would probably be the limit to what’s shared that way) in the name of transparency.

For anyone screaming in their heads right now: The only reason we pick AWS is because of one feature that I couldn't find a replacement for yet: EFS. EFS allows us to create a fully clustered and managed NFS server where we can store PHP files and other data. The wiki.opennic.org DokuWiki makes use of this feature to store its data in a way so that it allows easy scaling, load balancing and shared access across two or more computing instances.
