I don't see any problems with this (as I've already stated, but makes sense
to say it in this thread too), but I'd be against using image tracking to
track non-JS users.

You say it would be useful for tracking bots, but many bots don't request
images at all, and some users prefer not to turn on DNT as it makes their
browser easier to fingerprint, but rather block all scripts.
