I'd still prefer if we could link the people who voted with the mailing list emails, but it's nice that the login is common now.

That's not the case anymore. The wiki uses our LDAP system where we store all user and server information. The username is equal to the one in the LDAP database so we (for now the admins of the LDAP database only) can at least take a look at the end results of votings whenever needed.
