OK admittedly I spoke out of anger and frustration. I usually don't do that, and I'm sorry for making insinuations.

HOWEVER... the point still stands that I informed everyone directly on IRC, or else I sent personal email to everyone else. Martin, I sent you a note on April 8th advising of the changes to the serials, which you replied to. I sent another email on the 11th to let you know the old script wasn't handling the serial changes, and an update was needed to the newer script. On the 13th I sent a detailed email to let you know the exact steps for updating the script files, and never received a reply. I sent another email on the 23rd asking if you had gotten the script updates, and if that was still failing then to please manually correct for the problem until we could get another solution worked out. I never received a reply to that email either.

Its not so much that I have any concerns about your technical ability to run your server -- my problem is with the lack of communication and the apparent lack of concern for fixing a problem that your server (among others) was propagating. At the very least, you could have changed your config files to only allow NS2 as the master for those zones so at least the information would be correct until the script problem was resolved. Instead you chose to do nothing at all, and even stopped responding to my emails. THAT is my real problem with this whole mess. It is something that could have been cleared up in a few minutes on IRC, or even in a few hours through email if there had been continuous replies, but you never even checked your results to see if the issue was fixed so I had to keep asking if you had done anything.

I will not tacitly acquiesce to this implied claim.

I was logged in 3-4 times a week, doing development and other miscellaneous
stuff on my server. I know how to log in.

However, during the main period of previous "inactivity" I:
* Had a full-time job.
* Had only irregular moments due to the above to work on the server and
software.
* Working on the new remote creation/editing/deletion system and making
improvements to the WHOIS server as time permitted.
* Busy writing and working on my PhD.
* Was relying upon out of date information in the wiki, only I did not know
it was out of date, nor where to find out where more up to date information
might be found.

Anything further and I would be repeating my opening post to this thread.

One thing that particularly annoyed me as it came to light, is that
email-only members are being descriminated* against. If you're not part of the
group on IRC, you're no more than a lurker and are not part of the "inner
circle". I find that unfair.

To those being paid full-time to work on OpenNIC, or work as system
administrators and are allowed to work on OpenNIC-related projects during the
day, I
envy you.

* Using the definition: to unfairly treat a person or group of people
differently from other people or groups.
