Wow! He makes you login to his services every time you want to access the
Internets?
This seems extremely odd for a domestic (I assume, maybe incorrectly, that
it's a domestic/home ) broadband service, maybe there's more to it
than that?

I should meet with him around the end of the month (depends when my new
laptop
arrives) so I will ask him. I think it may be a part of his
authorization service. Before
I can access the Internet, I always have to start a browser and fill a
login form. If I try
to access another site, it automatically redirects me to the login page.
If you ask why he does it, then perhaps because of many folks who
set-upped their
own wi-fi and forgot on the encryption. I'll ask him and post his answer.

Are you going to talk to your I.S.P. about this issue, or maybe you
have already? It'd be interesting to know the story in greater
detail... How you found out, why they do it, if they'll change their
policy/practice etc... Peter On Thu, 17 May 2012 15:24:37 -0500 (CDT),

Thanks to stephan48 on IRC I was able to find a solution. In the end,
it was my ISP intercepting DNS requests. And I thought he was a such
cool guy. :-( Anyway, I'm bypassing it with this neat script -
