Sorry for replying to myself but I don't know where else to post it. Thanks to
stephan48 on IRC I was able to find a solution. In the end, it was my ISP
intercepting DNS requests. And I thought he was a such cool guy. :-( Anyway,
I'm bypassing it with this neat script -
https://github.com/stephan48/dnsproxy.
