This is something that plagued the DotBit project greatly. Since
statistics are so prevalent there it's easy to see, but I'm sure all
free domain name providers have similar problems.
A good solution in theory would be for the domain to not even be
registered (simply reserved) until the first record is made, but I
don't know how well it would work in practice. Perhaps some individual
will know better.
