There's nothing sensitive here, so I thought I'd reply here too:

I can't remember exactly, but it was a combination of finding
information on building an alternate internet, and in general not being
happy with ICANN. I went searching and found a few things on slashdot.

I followed a link or two which eventually lead me to wikipedia where I
found mention of alternate name roots. There I saw OpenNIC.

> 2. When did you join OpenNIC?
21st May this year according to my email archive. I had been browsing
the website and wiki for a day or two before emailing Julian and after
waiting a few days for a reply, I joined the list :)

> 3. Do you run a T1 or T2?
T1, running .oz

I also run a private T2 with another T2 in the works which will be made
public at some point soon.

> 4. Involvement in any other open-source or community projects?
MUD4TLD, OpenNIC RM-API, corepkgman (alternate package manager for
TinyCore Linux), plus 4 other projects which will be made public soon.

That's about it I think.
