Hi,

As far as I understand, if someone, say that is new to OpenNIC wants a new
TLD, apart from the democratic process of approval here, they also need to
setup and run a T1.

Now there may be many more people that would like to run a new TLD and have
the money to do it, but not the know how and possibly would only be
interested in administering the registration side of it. So should OpenNIC
offer a package, where by someone, anyone, with the desire and money can
employ the technical know how to achieve their goal?

This would still be way cheaper than I.C.A.N.N. after all, the application
would still work the same and still be free, it would only cost as much as
the server/s required and the wages of any sysadmins, thus creating
employment. It would also retain the values of OpenNIC.

Obviously this could happen anyway, if some employed a tech savy peron to do
the sysadmin side, but should OpenNIC help facilitate it?

I believe it would help us become more mainstream, and credible on the world
stage.

Just thinking out loud ;-)

Peter
