I feel sorry that you feel this is the case. I can assure you 110%
this is not.

If anyone does have any issues with this though, I'm happy to take a
back seat on the project and let others take charge.

OpenNIC does vote on policy changes. We will have some votes forth
coming when the ICANN TLD process is completed. OpenNIC has voted in
the past on charter changes and the like.
