The next time you use this "I don't want to rush" justification, I'm proposing the transfer on principle. Grow a pair and deploy or hand over the reins to someone who will. No one is going to be impressed by how perfect whatever you deploy is. They'll be too sick of your empty promises and placating deadlines.

In addition to those, there are serious security concerns I have with any domain that is currently running on the gallium system.
Then start accepting manual registrations. Clearly you have the staffing and text editors necessary.

The only thing that would happen if we switched the management of the domain to someone else right now is it would take them another month at least to launch the service, or they would use the system I have been developing with Jeff,
This system is much newer than your zone's outages. As in about half a year newer.

Instead of working against us, perhaps Peter, you would like to serve on the committee which works on and develops .pirate?
Or he could start going through emailed registration requests. Which would not be good enough because then there wouldn't be any "We're back!" hype later down the road. You're not interested in making it work well, you're interested in making it newsworthy. Function be damned.
