Travis, the discussion 'was' civilized...

You talk shit, and you do nothing but push your over sized ego around, period.

I'm not interested anymore, this whole mess is pathetic.

Peter

P.S. sorry to OpenNIC for being like this...

There are multiple places of communication for OpenNIC and as far as I have seen, there is no "official" place. Anyone who is on #OpenNIC could follow the changes. Everything has been done above board, and with a decent level of transparency. With the mailing list's hostility, it was very low on my agenda to keep updated.. why would I when people can't have civilized debate?

Users will have no reason to trust .Pirate off the bat, that isn't due to our lack of communication but because the last time we were trusted we broke that trust with a failed system. What they can trust is that we have been down, we have seen the problems and we are the best to fix them. Even this transparency issue we are dedicated to fixing, in part by opening up the management of the .Pirate TLD to a group outside of just myself.

I want to create a charter for the new management which will allow for good debate and democracy, while leaving other powers in the hands of the central committee (a sort of direct / representative democracy hybrid). This will be a great way forward for managing the domain, but I can't just "establish the committee". It needs to be done right, with a charter and rules.

It seems as though people on this list have confused lack of visible results as a lack of action. We are playing the strategy "slow and steady wins the race", part of that has been also helping our fellow TLD owners get their system up and working together to build a single strong code platform.

I believe taking action now would set us back, and encourage you all to relax and realize we are all on the same team.

With the year plus outage of. pirate and the extreme lack of communication why should anyone ever register a new. pirate domain or for that matter trust the person running it when he can't be bothered to tell people that the deadline that was set won't be met until called out on it?

Shame the rest of us weren't...

Either way, in my opinion the deadline set at 01/04 was way long enough
given the months and months running up to setting that deadline, it's
just ridiculous!

And why set a deadline, agree to meet it and then just stretch it out
yet again? Are there going to be more delays?

This is a joke, but not a very funny one.

Peter
