What about some setting in the dns? Just an idea but would make it a little obvious and easier on you.

Good question.  I'd say opt-out would be OK.  After all, OpenNIC domain
holders are presumably putting up content for public consumption.  I think
though there might be situations where a domain holder doesn't want to be
found in ICANN-space.
