Either opt-in or opt-out, the use of a TXT record would certainly
make it easy to automate the procedure. The advantage of using this
for opt-in is that by specifically listing the domain and subdomain
you want included, it reduces the chance that a desired subdomain is
missed during the record scrape. On 02/25/2015 03:45 AM, Julian De

Just an idea but would make it a little obvious and easier on you.TXT record indicating opt-out. "private=yes" might be a good string? Rethinking this, what about making it opt-in? That way people who are interested can do it and those not, don't have to actively think about it and get caught out. $ORIGIN link.$TLD @ TXT "linkme" Something like the above could work? No need for an A record, just a TXT record for link.TLD. The presence of such a thing means add it to the link DNS zone. This is a win-win as it means only active domains are listed on our ICANN facing page. --julian -------- You are a member of the OpenNIC Discuss list.
