That has not much to do with what DNS servers they have configured.

And in many cases you can just use DNS servers of your liking.

What I find really shitty though is when they redirect all DNS queries to their servers. It can still be overcome but it's not too easy.

This is how it works in USA as our service providers are strictly profit driven. It would be nice but I don't think this will change in my country for a very long time.
