You raised up important issue! Really, there is needed SSL certificates for OpenNIC alt domain zones.
In addition, I assume, this CA can issue SSL-certificates for zones, peering into OpenNIC, too.
Like EmerCoin (*.coin *.emc *.lib *.bazar) or Namecoin (*.bit) ones.

Currently, EmerCoin zones used relative broadly, and adding certificates will be important step for all of us.

I am, as EmerCoin CTO, would like participate in this project.

Please, include me in.

In connection to my "Need for an OpenNIC TLD CA" list thread I posted previously, I'd like to organize the formation of an Encryption Working Group to facilitate the development and implementation of a Certificate Issuance system for OpenNIC, as we have no way to issue certificates to domain holders at the moment outside of individual self-signed certificates.

Anyways, see my other post to this list for more information about the "why" behind this. I'm merely proposing a way to get some interested members of the community together so we can work on a solution for this problem.
