Re Amendment 2: I apologize for the misprint on the charter regarding domain pricing, it seems I pasted in an earlier revision of the charter that included that wording. The official charter does indeed state domains will remain free in perpetuity, and we had no intention of raising prices ever.  I will update the website soon with the correct wording. This amendment isn't necessary.

Re Amendment 1: The terminology "members" in the situation you've posed refers to domain holders (i.e. persons who hold an .o domain), not the OpenNIC community. We require the ability to veto such votes so as not to create instability. On the page you referenced (http://wiki.opennicproject.org/RegisteringATLD) this is stated quite clearly: "All OpenNIC TLDs must be governed democratically, with **each domain registrant receiving a single vote**. A vote of the "membership" of a TLD is always binding. Therefore, an OpenNIC TLD does not belong to any one person or group, but rather to the community of its users." Clearly it in no way refers to OpenNIC decisions as a whole.

The OpenNIC community at large has voted in favor of my charter overwhelmingly, after making some changes when it was originally up for discussion. I believe it's well written and requires no changes: I vote NO on all aforementioned proposals.

Additionally, all policies are de facto valid under current OpenNIC policies, as the OpenNIC community voted in favor of the charter, effectively making it an official policy in the community.

Explanation: This clause is in direct violation of the "Registering a new TLD"
policy, where it is stated that you can only manage a TLD "if you are willing
to
manage a TLD which will always be subject to any **binding** vote of the
entire
OpenNIC membership."

--Amendment 2--
To remove the clause "All registrations will be available for free after
approval, however, the modernTLD administration holds the right to raise
prices
as needed to cover operating costs" from the .o charter, and replace it with
the
clause "All registrations are and will remain available for free"

Explanation: As per the OpenNIC charter, its mission is "to offer **free**/
open
access to DNS services to everyone by establishing new domain hierarchies."
It also "encourages the establishment of non-revenue-generating domain
hierarchies."
