Is it really hurting anything?? How many years did we sit around waiting on .dyn to go live?

People get busy. It happens.

This is a hobby for most of us and to anyone who sees it as more than that, please let me know what your salary is and how I can also get one.

You say you fail to see how this affects other projects..?  Every single time I've asked you about the status of the code, you've told me that you simply haven't had enough time to work on it.  And then I see you announcing on the mailing list that you're working on another project, whether it be researching, coding, or setting up new servers for something.

Every time.

I've even straight out asked you how it is that you have time to be working on these other things when you don't have time to finish the registrar, and you either pass of something about other things being more important or you just stop responding.  If I remember right, you took advantage of the spirit of the opennic voting process and rushed through a 2-day vote over Thanksgiving weekend in order to get your TLD accepted as quickly as possible, and you've been dragging your heels ever since then.  This never sat well with me and I told you as much when I saw it was happening, but I let it go at the time because you seemed eager to jump in and get some work done.

If you really take your projects seriously, then prove it.  Spend some actual time working on getting this finished instead of focusing all your free time on every other project you've started since November.  After that focus on the next project and see it through to completion.  If you can finish something, I might start having a little more faith in the outcome of everything else you want to work on.  I'm not saying you CAN'T finish, I'm just saying your excuses for non-completion don't hold any water.

I have a number of quality standards I generally like to meet before publishing things for others, because I actually like to take my projects seriously. I've had this code for a while but it has a number of issues that in any other situation (for example, the time before you've started emailing this list) would cause me to hold off on publishing. But this is fine.

I hope people will post issues at our GitHub tracker so I can prioritize what needs to be done, now that it's out there I suppose I should start improving it. I fail to see how this affects other projects in any way.

Yeah I wasn't saying that my message was declaring an open vote, only that this is an issue that needs to be brought up and discussed.

And frankly, I think I'm even more worried that there is suddenly an operational registrar running only a few hours after my initial email.  How long have you had functional code sitting around?  Why is it that you've been pouring so much energy into all these other projects, but you couldn't get this one online first?  And what assurances do we have that you'll follow up with getting it closer to full functionality, rather than just dropping it again so you can play with other projects?

I have a lot of concern over how you've managed this TLD to date, and that quickly spills over into concerns about every other project you're working on for opennic.  It's great that you have the energy to try making things better, but please try actually completing one major project before moving on to something else.

There is no voting before a formal vote is proposed followed by a discussion.

If we want to argue semantics and rules, let's atleast abide by our own.

I vote Yes to remove .o and vote Yes to require a functioning registrar. If a functioning registrar comes into being, then we can vote for/against .o again.
