Just for some background, due to problems they had, they were only allowing zone slaving with known IP addresses.  Because of that, I arranged to allow NS2.opennic.glue to directly slave their zones, and then I was sharing that info with the other T1 servers.  That seems like it might have changed, because I have changed the IP address of NS2 and it is still receiving the zone files (assuming of course that there have actually been any recent changes to their serial?).

So while it appears that their DNS is still working, I have some serious reservations about the fact that we simply cannot get ahold of anyone in their group.  All signs seem to indicate the project has been completely abandoned and is just running itself with their last code base until someone actually hacks their server.

I don't think there is any reason to stop peering with NN, even if the site not maintained there hasn't been any technical problems. (I have some domains with them as redirects) OpenNIC shouldn't be responsible for censoring bad language and adult sites.

It appears that the New Nations web site has been dead for quite awhile,
and all of their pages are wide-open to public editing. The domain
registration appears to have gone full-auto, mostly appearing to be
people playing around (a lot of entries such as "fuuuck.uu"). And at
this point I have no working contacts for anyone involved with the
project. Perhaps someone is still monitoring our mailing list and will
see this, but NN's demise has been mentioned previously and there was
still no contact.

So at this point, unless anyone else has new information or contact with
the NN team, I think we should probably treat the New Nations project as
deserted and begin removing our connections with that project.

This thread is not an actual vote on the subject... What I'm trying to
do is collect information or opinions on the matter to see if there are
any other choices. I'll give this a few days, and if there are no other
ideas then I'll call an official vote for removal.
