Follow-up:

Perhaps having 'lively' forum would attract more newcomers to the project. I know that one of the things I tend do when deciding to participate in any new endeavours is to check for evidence of people's participation in the project (such as a forum with recent post).

I understand running a forum takes time and effort, everything does.

The new forum is located within the OpenNIC and it's a good thing. Imagine someone new just after switching to ON, he/she finds an active forum that otherwise he wouldn't have access to. At that point this is the first and important proof to that person that ON is not merely behind-the-scenes mechanism, a proof-of-concept really and an alternative to ICANN (which a lot of pple dont have an issue with), it actually provides them with some content as well.

We live in interesting times and there's much need for organisations such as ON, organisations with principles in mind, providing libre, open, people-for-people services on the web, so maybe just maybe it's the right time to get our shit together and stop arguing about the principles behind the principles, take our head out of our asses, show some flexibility and good will and start working together for the greater good of 'The ON Project'.

Ps. I feel your pain 'gitgud AT tfwno.gf' I did not participate in the vote because of fear of making an uninformed decision, something I regret in retrospective.
