What about opening an online shop at something like
http://www.cafepress.com/ and stick the logo and perhaps a slogan or two
on some few t-shirts, coffee cups, and stickers, then people can buy
them in 1's and 2's or in bulk to hand out at trade shows and what not.

It's no cost to start up a store and stick your logo on stuff, they just
make the product as it's ordered.

The "swag" shop could even be promoted on the opennic website to help
promote and even perhaps generate a buck or two to help offset costs a
little bit.

I, for example, will be setting up booths some new products at several
trade shows coming up in 2012, would be pleased to have a stack of
OpenNIC stickers on the table for people to take. I would gladly wear an
OpenNIC t-shirt everywhere I go, and drink coffee from an openNIC coffee
cup. :)
