There is some use, actually.   There is the small problem that normal 
places would reject the from address as SPAM and that servers not 
resolving OpenNIC TLD's cannot even send them.  The mailing list can 
send to OpenNIC addresses, however, so you are free to use one if you 
wish for this purpose at least.
