I'd really appreciate the help! Since I have some very lofty ambitions to build my own FTTX pure-fiber active Ethernet network, and set it up as a consumer's cooperative, I need to at least have a passing comprehension and competence with fundamental technologies that constitute the Internet.

This obviously includes a passable competence with the domain name system, and basic server administration.

OpenNIC is a lively and very helpful community full of interesting engineers who might approve of such an ambition, and I'd appreciate any help in that direction.

I promise I'll at least duck things before poking the list with a question~! :3

PS: It's very difficult to stop drooling over Calix networking equipment >.>;
